NEW DELHI (Metro Rail News): In a landmark decision, the Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has given the green signal for the construction of a new metro line in Gurugram. This 28.5-kilometer elevated line, equipped with 27 stations, will link HUDA City Centre to Cyber City, with a spur from Basai village to Dwarka Express.

The project, estimated to cost ₹5,452.72 crore, will be implemented by the Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Company. It is expected to be ready in 4 years from the date of sanction. This metro line will significantly enhance urban connectivity between old and new Gurgaon.
By the year 2026, it is anticipated that the metro line will cater to a daily ridership of approximately 5.34 lakhs passengers. Currently, Gurgaon relies on the Yellow Line of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and the 11.6-kilometer Rapid Metro for transportation. The introduction of this new metro line will further improve connectivity to and from Gurgaon, providing a seamless commuting experience.

It’s worth noting that the entire project will be elevated, offering an efficient and hassle-free travel experience. This new metro line is set to boost Gurugram’s growth and development, bringing improved urban connectivity to the city.
