Godrej Declared as Lowest Bidder For Mumbai Metro Line 4’s Contract worth INR 251 Crores

The bid submitted by Godrej, the lowest bidder, is still 24.99% higher than the cost estimated by MMRDA for the same project.

MUMBAI (Metro Rail News): Godrej & Boyce has been declared the lowest Bidder for Mumbai metro Line 4’s Station Finishing & PEB contract.

Scope of the Contract 

The scope of the contract ranges from  Architectural Finishing to plumbing Works, including interior fit-outs, façade etc., along with Part Design, Fabrication, Supply and Erection of Pre-Engineered Structure including Entry-Exit Structures for 07 elevated stations viz Garodia Nagar, Pant Nagar, Laxmi Nagar, Shreyas Cinema, Godrej Company, Vikhroli Metro & Surya Nagar of Line-4 of Mumbai Metro. 

The Tender 

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) invited bids for their architectural finishing contract in October 2023 with an estimated budget of Rs. 200.83 crore and a deadline of 20 months. In January, the technical bids were opened, revealing three bidders who submitted proposals for the project.

Further Development 

The bid submitted by Godrej, the lowest bidder, is still 24.99% higher than the cost estimated by MMRDA for the same project. The process will likely reach the negotiation round for further award of LoA. 

Mumbai Metro Line 4

The Mumbai Metro’s Green Line, designated as Line 4, remains an incomplete rapid transit project in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Envisaged as a fully elevated route spanning 32.32 kilometres (20.08 miles), it is slated to encompass 32 stations linking Wadala in Mumbai to Kasarvadavali on Ghodbunder Road in Thane, passing through Chembur, Bhandup Mulund, and Teen Hath Naka, a prominent intersection in Thane known for heavy traffic. The project is estimated to require an investment of ₹14,549 crore.
