Vande Bharat Trains to Traverse Engineering Marvel

The Vande Bharat trains operating on this newly established route will navigate through the Chenab Bridge, recognised as the world’s highest railway bridge, which rises to an elevation of 359 meters above sea level. This bridge is a significant component of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project, a substantial investment valued at ₹40,000 crores.

Additionally, the Vande Bharat trains will cross the Anji Khad Bridge, which is notable for being India’s inaugural cable-stayed bridge. This remarkable structure, supported by 96 cables, extends 725 meters in length and achieves a height of 331 meters above mean sea level.
