PUNE (Metro Rail News): The Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (Maha Metro) on Friday conducted trail run between Vanaz and Garware College of length 5.4 km which is a part of Line-2 from Vanaz to Ramwadi of length 14.665 km with 16 elevated stations on the route.
The trial run was held between Vanaz (Kothrud) and Ideal Colony at the Hill View Park car depot in the area in the presence of Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.

The flag-off ceremony of the first trial run of Pune Metro’s E-W corridor in the Pune Municipal Corporation limits was successfully conducted in the presence of Dy. CM Ajit Pawar, Collector Dr. Rajesh Deshmukh, President of Maharashtra BJP Chandrakant Patil, Mayor of Pune Murlidhar Mohol, MD Maha Metro Dr. Brijesh Dixit other dignitaries
Maha Metro has also Unviel the first coach of India’s First Aluminum Trains which will be used in Pune Metro’s Aqua and Purple Lines.
The Maha Metro is executing the Pune Metro rail project, which has two corridors – one from Vanaz to Ramwadi, which is an elevated line, and the other from Pimpri Chinchwad to Swargate, which is elevated till the Agriculture College in Shivajinagar and underground after that.
Maha Metro aims to start operation from Vanaz to Garware College by the end of this year along with Pimpri Chinchwad to Phugewadi section of 6.2 km which is a part of under construction Line-1 from Pimpri Chinchwad to Swargate of length 16.59 km which will have 14 stations on the route. Earlier, trail run was also carried out for this 6.2 km long Pimpri Chinchwad to Phugewadi section.
