As per the release RITES Ltd., a leading transport infrastructure consultancy, on 3 October 2024 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), which is renowned for operating and maintaining Delhi’s extensive metro rail network. Through this MoU, both organisations will combine their strengths to identify, secure, and execute metro projects in India and abroad.

The partnership aims at tapping opportunities in the urban transit system space, delivering world-class solutions for both domestic and international projects.

Also, the alliance syncs with RITES’ ongoing efforts to expand its global footprint under its ‘RITES Videsh’ initiative. With DMRC’s extensive experience in metro rail operations and RITES’ proven expertise in transport infrastructure, both entities are well-positioned to pursue emerging opportunities.

WORKING WITH as Regional Interface manager C-7 & C8 Package in PADECO with PMC Civil to Mumbai to Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Consortium TCAP (TATA-CEG-AARVI-PADECO):
There are mainly five stages/procedures of Interface Management, wherein A to C are Design Interface, D is both Design & construction Interface and E is construction Interface:
A. Sharing of Interface Inputs from Interfacing Contractor and Lead Contractor and vice versa.
B. ICD (Interface Coordinated Documents) or DID (Detailed Interface Descriptions) is to be signed between Lead and Interfacing contractors inline with the Interfacing items that provides a clear technical description of each of interface in the Interface Matrixes, pertaining to Interfacing requirements of Lead contractor to Interfacing Contractor and vice versa, by defining the clear status of Interface Matrix Items pertaining to Interface Input sharing and correspondically design development status / approvals, etc.
C. Incorporation of Interface Inputs in the respective of proposed Drawings of Lead Contractor, by means of SRR (Submission Review Request) or DSR (Document submission and Review), by having compliance of : type of issue in submissions, area of deficiency, status of comments like NONO, NONOC, NOO, NR, comment status of re-submission by the contractor’s, etc.
D. In case of any Interface Issue identified pertaining to any design Interface Issue, Construction Interface Issue, etc., either by Lead Contractor, or by Interfacing Contractor, then regular Interface meetings, may be conducted in one day in a week or fortnightly, by sending invitations to all the interfacing parties at 1-2 days before the weekly/consistent/regular Interface meeting, (wherein interface issues will be identified by allotting a issue numbers which will never be repeated), by taking up all the raised interface issues of the Lead and Interfacing contractors and correspondically issued the MOMs in accordance with clearly recording the discussed agenda/Interface issues, along with derived conclusions with respect to responsibilities and TDCs respectively.
E. HO/TO (handing over/taking over documents) is one of the contractor’s interfacing document as per contractual obligations, which should be signed time by time as Interface management progress of each contractor, in case of handing over from one contractor to another pertaining to access to work, in line with the checklist of handing over agency with respect to the status of another agency, which is to be derived during Joint Inspection.
