NEW DELHI (Metro Rail News): The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has appointed Dr. Amit Kumar Jain as its new Director (Operations & Services).
Dr. Jain, an Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) officer from 2000, has over 20 years of expertise in Various essential leadership roles. Before accepting this position, he was General Manager of Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS).
He had previously served as Director of the Railway Board and Head of Operations for the Railways’ Delhi Division. Between 2009 to 2015, Dr Jain served the DMRC as Principal of the Training School and the Deputy Head of the Department of Operations and Maintenance.
He earned his PhD in urban transport from the SPA in Delhi, his M.Tech. from the IIT in Delhi, and his B.E. in civil engineering from the IIT in Roorkee. He is an IIT Roorkee gold medalist.
Dr. Jain is also the author of three books: “Exploring Life@2050,” “Intelligent Transportation Systems,” and “Excellence in Metro Operations and Management – Best Practises worldwide.”
In addition, he frequently contributes to journals and newspaper columns. Additionally, he worked with UNESCAP as a Rail Digitalization expert to create a digital transformation strategy for Iranian Railways. He is a member of the Indian government’s “National Pool of Trainers on Leadership.” He also serves as a visiting faculty member at various institutes, including LBSNAA-Mussoorie, TERI, IIT Mumbai, IEG, NAIR, IRITM, SPA Delhi, and IUT Delhi.
