NEW DELHI (Metro Rail News): In a key step towards expanding Delhi’s metro infrastructure, the Delhi Government has approved three new corridors under Delhi Metro Phase 5A. According to an official statement, this decision was taken during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta stated that the project involves the construction of three corridors covering a total length of 16 kilometres, comprising 13 metro stations. The project is estimated to cost ₹12,014.91 crore, of which the Delhi Government will contribute ₹2,940.46 crore. The details of the corridors have been mentioned below:

Recently, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) floated a tender for the civil contract EC-03 of Delhi Metro Phase 5A.The tender has been floated for the R.K. Ashram – Indraprastha corridor which is the extension of Magenta Line (Line 8) of Delhi Metro. To know more about this new: Click Here.
The new underground stretch of the Golden Line will establish a direct metro link between Aerocity and Terminal 1. This connection will offer air passengers a seamless and time-efficient transit option to and from the airport.
The government said the proposed expansion is designed to ensure smooth integration with the existing metro network, enabling convenient interconnectivity across key transit points. It will strengthen links between the airport, major business districts, and densely populated residential areas. The initiative is also expected to promote a sustainable and efficient urban transport framework.
