VISAKHAPATNAM (Metro Rail News): The long-awaited Visakhapatnam Metro Project has finally gained momentum as the Andhra Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation invited bids for the first civil contract of Vizag Metro, also known as the Visakhapatnam Metro Phase 1 project. The estimated cost of the contract is ₹ 6250 crores.

Contract’s Scope of Work
The scope of work under this contract includes the Engineering, Design and Construction of Viaduct Length 46.23 kms (3 corridors) (including 20.16 Kms of Double Decker 4 Lane Flyover cum Metro Viaduct) and 42 Nos. Elevated Metro stations, etc., all as specified on EPC basis for Phase-1 of Visakhapatnam Metro Rail, at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India

Recently, SYSTRA Consultancy entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the state government. This agreement designates SYSTRA Consultancy as the general consultant for the Visakhapatnam Metro rail project. The firm will be responsible for overseeing the planning, design, and construction phases of the project.
