CHENNAI (Metro Rail News): CMRL signs a contract worth Rs 1817.54 Cr with TATA Projects to construct five underground stations in Corridor-05 of Chennai metro Phase:02.
The Letter of Acceptance (LoA) for the same was issued back on 11th September 2023 Monday, for a value of Rs 1817.54 Crore inclusive of all provisional sum & GST. The work involves the Construction of 5 underground stations, namely:
- Kolathur Junction Metro
- Srinivasa Nagar Metro
- Villivakkam Metro
- Villivakkam Bus Terminus Metro
- Villivakkam MTH Road Metro
The scope of work includes tasks ranging from Entry / Exit gates, Ventilation Shafts, Plumbing, Earthmat, Architectural Finishes, Signages, etc. It also entails Twin Bore Tunnels from m Kolathur Junction Retrieval Shaft to Villivakkam MTH Road Launching Shaft and Ramps with U – Section in Corridor-5 of CMRL PhaseII Project.
The contract was signed in the presence of Thiru. M.A.Siddique, I.A.S Managing Director of CMRL, the Contract Agreement was signed by Thiru. T.Archunan, IRSE – Director (Projects) on behalf of CMRL and Thiru. Raman Kapil – Executive Vice President on behalf of M/s TATA Projects Limited.
With the award of this contract, CMRL achieves 100% completion of the award of civil and track contracts for the Phase 02 project comprising a 116.1 Km metro network in 3 corridors.
