NEW DELHI (Metro Rail): According to a news report, Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML), an Indian Public Sector Undertaking recently supplied 64 trains to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation in the launch of the driverless metro which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday.
This is being seen as a very vital initiative as the Make In India gains popularity. “BEML supplied 64 trains as MakeInIndia partner, recently inaugurated by Hon’ble PM”, CMD of BEML said through a tweet.
“BEML has independently supplied about 140 cars to DMRC using transfer of technology from Hyundai ROTEM. It manufactures a variety of heavy equipment, such as that used for earthmoving, transport, and mining. BEML is Asia’s second-largest manufacturer of earthmoving equipment, and it controls 70% of India’s market in that sector”, a news report added.
