BHOPAL (Metro Rail News): The Bhopal Metro Project progressed as Afcons Infrastructure has initiated casting of segments at Anna Nagar Casting Yard for Package BH-05 of Blue Line.
The Blue Line of Bhopal Metro spans 19.915 Km from Bhadbhada Chauraha to Ratnagiri Tiraha through 14 elevated stations.

In December 2024, Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (MPMRCL) awarded Rs 1006.74 crore Package BH-05 to Afcons Infrastructure.
The scope of work under this package includes the construction of the entire Blue Line Viaduct, 13 stations and a ramp leading to Subhash Nagar Depot.
Stations: Bhadbhada Chauraha, Depot Chauraha, Jawahar Chowk, Roshanpura Chauraha, Kushabhau Thakre Hall, Parade Ground, Prabhat Chauraha, Govindpura, Govindpura Industrial Area, JK Road, Indrapuri, Piplani, Ratnagiri Tiraha (excluding an Elevated Passenger Interchange Metro Rail Station).
Phase 1 of the Bhopal Metro consists of 2 corridors with 28 stations in total. Phase 1 is expected to become operational by 2027. The Bhopal Metro Project is estimated to cost Rs. 6941.40 crores.

Recently, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav also inspected the Bhopal Metro Project. The Chief Minister boarded a three-coach metro train and undertook a trial run from Subhash Nagar to AIIMS and from AIIMS to Rani Kamlapati Station.
