PONDICHERRY, INDIA (Metro Rail News): Eaton Power Quality Pvt. Ltd (EPQPL) Pondicherry plant received the Zero Water Discharge Certification recognition and the first Eaton Electrical plant to receive this recognition. The site’s efforts align with Eaton’s vision ‘To improve the quality of life and the environment through power management technologies and services. It also reflects Eaton’s promise to be active stewards of the environment. These efforts align with the company’s 2030 sustainability target of certifying 10% of its manufacturing facilities worldwide as zero-water discharge. To be deemed zero water discharge, sites must discharge less than two per cent of their industrial wastewater.

As India has been identified as one of the waters stressed countries and a focus area for water conservation, Eaton is committed to adhering to the strict government guidelines around water usage and conservation. Eaton Pondicherry plant has gone beyond regulatory requirements by following ways to achieve Zero Water Discharge certification, i.e., Reducing, Reusing & Recycling, and System Maintenance & leaks detection.

Globally, Eaton is working to reduce carbon emissions from its operations by half, lower product and supply chain emissions, and certify all manufacturing sites as zero-waste-to-landfill to reduce its environmental footprint.
