BANGALORE (Metro Rail News): The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (BMRCL) announced that 8 firms have submitted bids for the Independent Safety Assessment (ISA) services contract, Package 11 S&T SA of Bangalore Metro Phase 2, 2A, and 2B. Technical bids for the contract were opened in June.
The scope of work under this contract includes providing ISA Services for the signalling and train control system for Phase 2’s Pink Line, which spans 21 km, and Phase 2A and 2B’s Blue Line, which spans 5 km. Additionally, the contract also includes providing ISA Services for platform screen doors (PSDs) for Phase 2’s Yellow Line, Pink Line, and Phase 2A & 2B’s Blue Line.
In March 2025, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) initiated a tender process to engage firms with expertise in independent safety assessment (ISA) services for metro rail systems. The scope of work includes comprehensive testing, safety inspection, and system certification in accordance with national and international standards applicable to urban rail transit systems.
The selected Independent Safety Assessor (ISA) will be responsible for verifying the safety integrity of various sub-systems. The engagement period for the ISA is stipulated at 1,200 days (approximately 3.3 years).

BMRCL’s Brief Scope: Independent Safety Assessment Services for Signalling and Train Control System for Reach-6, Phase-2A and Phase-2B, and Platform Screen Door/Gates systems of Reach-5, Reach-6, Phase-2A and Phase-2B of Phase-II.
The contract includes the installation of both Platform Screen Gates (PSGs) and Platform Screen Doors (PSDs) on the three corridors of the Bangalore Metro Project. The corridors are:

The operations on the Yellow Line are expected to commence in mid-August. However initially the frequency of train operations will be low due to limited rolling stock available for the Yellow Line.
