PUNE (Metro Rail News): Maha-Metro has received 6 bids for the first civil contract, Package P1A-UGC(R) of the Pune Metro’s Purple Line extension from Swargate to Katraj, which spans 5.464 km.
The Package P1A-UGC (R) is a part of the Pune Metro Phase 1 Extension project (Phase 1A) and will consist of twin tunnels and 5 underground metro stations, namely, Market Yard (Gultekdi), Bibwewadi, Padmawati, Balaji Nagar, and Katraj.

Maha-Metro’s Brief Scope: Design and construction of underground stations at Market Yard, Padmavati, and Katraj (Stage I), as well as Bibwewadi and Balaji Nagar (Stage II), along with associated tunnelling work at the North-South Corridor of the Pune Metro Rail Project.
The bids submitted by 6 firms have now been sent for technical evaluation. Once the technical evaluation is completed, the financial bids will be opened for the technically qualified bids to reveal the lowest bidder for the contract.
