MUMBAI METRO: EMPOWERING URBAN TRANSFORMATION AND FACILITATING REAL ESTATE GROWTHMumbai, previously referred to as Bombay, serves as the capital city of the state of Maharashtra. It is situated along the Konkan coast, adjacent to the Arabian Sea. In addition to its geographical significance, Mumbai functions as the central hub of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.The city is characterised by its vibrant culture and diverse attributes and is recognised as India%u2019s principal financial and commercial centre, often referred to as the \Capital of India.\Mumbai is noted as the secondfastest-growing city in India and is among the most densely populated cities worldwide. The estimated population of Mumbai is approximately 12.5 million, positioning it as one of the most densely populated cities in India. Additionally, it ranks as the sixthmost populous metropolitan area globally, with a population exceeding 23 million. However, due to this growing population, the city started to witness major challenges like Traffic Congestion. The city saw a need for a more reliable and sustainable mode of public transport system to alleviate the traffic on the roads of Mumbai. In Response to these challenges, the city saw a Metro System as the best mode of public transportation for the city. The Mumbai Metro Rail Project was developed to address the city%u2019s growing transportation needs and to offer a fast, safe, and efficient alternative to Mumbai%u2019s congested roads. Furthermore, the Mumbai Metro is also designed to complement the existing network of Mumbai Suburban Railways by offering additional routes and increased capacity. FEATURED METRO SYSTEM
