State Govt to Fund 2 new stations of Pune Metro%u2019s Swargate-Katraj Extension The Pune Metro project has made significant progress, as the state government has approved financing for the additional expenditure of Rs. 683 Crore to establish two new stations, namely Bibwewadi and Balaji Nagar, along the extension of the Pune Metro's Purple Line from Swargate to Katraj, which covers a distance of 5.464 km. Back in January 2025, Maharashtra Urban Affairs Minister Madhuri Misal proposed two new stations on the Purple Line%u2019s extension between Swargate and Katraj. This development comes after Maha-Metro floated tender for the first civil contract for the Pune Metro%u2019s Purple Line extension from Swargate to Katraj. Kanpur Metro: CMRS approves Moti Jheel %u2013 Kanpur Central Stretch of Line 1 for OperationsKanpur Metro progressed as the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) has approved the extension of passenger service on the 7km Moti Jheel to Kanpur Central Station stretch of Line 1. The entire corridor 1of the Kanpur Metro spans 23.785 km from IIT Kanpur to Naubasta featuring 22 stations. Currently, passenger services are available between IIT and Moti- Jheel section. In March 2025, CMRS conducted a thorough inspection of the Moti Jheel to Kanpur Central Station section of the Line 1.RITES Submits DPR of Jaipur Metro Phase 2In November 2024, the Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC) engaged the Rail India Technical and Economic Service (RITES) to prepare the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Jaipur Metro Phase 2. According to officials from JMRC, RITES has submitted the draft of the DPR. However, the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma, along with his team, has proposed modifications concerning the route and station locations. Once the revised Detailed Project Report is finalized, it will be submitted to the Union Government for approval.MMRDA Initiates Trial Run on Mumbai Metro Line 2BThe Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has initiated trial runs on the Mandale-Mankhurd stretch of Mumbai Metro Line 2B. The primary aim of these trials is to assess the interaction between the rolling stock and the civil infrastructure.Originally, the Mumbai Metro Yellow Line spans 23.643 km between D N Nagar and Mandale through 20 stations. Currently, The trials are underway on a 5.3 km stretch between Diamond Garden and Mandale. This section features 5 stations.Mumbai Metro: TBM Disha Achieves Breakthrough at Airport Colony Station of Line 7AJ Kumar Infraprojects (JKIL)%u2019s TBM Disha achieved a tunnel breakthrough at Airport Colony Station on Line 7A (Red Line) of Mumbai Metro under package CA-48. TBM Disha was deployed for the construction of approximately 2.49 kilometers of the up-line tunnel extending from Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport%u2019s Terminal 2 to the Airport Colony Station. In 2019, JKIL bagged Package CA-48 at Rs. 1,998 crore from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA). The Line 7A of Mumbai Metro spans 3.4 km and serves as an extension to the Red Line 7 corridor. NEWS HIGHLIGHTS
