Chennai ( Metro Rail News): Chennai Metro project progressed as Chennai Metro Rail Limited ( CMRL) extended the trial runs on Corridor 4 of Phase 2. The CMRL has extended the trials on the 9.1 km stretch connecting Mullai Thottam Metro Station and Porur Junction Metro Station.

In March 2025, CMRL initially conducted the trial runs between the Poonamallee Depot and Mullaithottam, a 3 km stretch of Corridor 4 of Chennai Metro Phase 4.
Thiru. M.A. Siddique, I.A.S., Managing Director, stated that “extension of testing and trials today marks a significant milestone in the progress of the Phase-2 Project of CMRL. These dynamic trials along the viaduct section of Corridor 4 will demonstrate our commitment to achieving key project targets in the shortest possible time period. We are steadily moving towards commissioning the project for the benefit of the public.”
About the Trials
CMRL has extended the trial runs from Mullai Thottam Metro Station to Porur Junction Metro Station, which spans 9.1 km. This section features 7 stations.
