Chennai (Metro Rail News): Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has appointed Shri Manoj Goyal as its new Director of Systems and Operations. A distinguished officer from the 1990 batch of the Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers (IRSEE), Mr. Goyal brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience spanning over three decades in Indian Railways.
Academic Background
Shri Goyal holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Dayalbagh Educational Institution (Deemed University), Agra. He further enhanced his academic credentials with a part-time MBA from the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, University of Mumbai, and an M.Phil from Dr. D.Y. Patil University, Navi Mumbai.
Professional Background
Over his 33-year career in Indian Railways, Shri Goyal has held several key positions. He served as Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, for two years and played a pivotal role as Chief General Manager (Systems) for five years in the Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project. He also contributed to the Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation, where his role was primarily focused on the modernisation and improvement of EMU maintenance facilities in the Mumbai suburban rail network.
Before joining CMRL, he served as Chief Administrative Officer for the Dahod Loco Factory Project, under Western Railway, based in Mumbai. His expertise spans Railway Rolling Stock, Traction Systems, and Electrical and Mechanical Systems, which positions him as a valuable asset to the Chennai Metro’s leadership team.
