IRCON Secures Package CA-233 Of  Mumbai Metro Line-6

Mumbai ( Metro Rail News): The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has declared IRCON International the lowest bidder for Package CA-233of Mumbai Metro Line 6 ( Pink Line), which spans 15.18 km from Swami Samarth Nagar (Lokhandwala) to Vikhroli.

Bidding Process 

MMRDA floated a tender for this contract in January 2024 with a Rs. 587.86 crore estimate. 

In November 2024 technical bids were opened in November 2024 to reveal that 4 firms have submitted bids for the contract. 

Out of 4 bidders, 3 bidders qualified for the financial bid opening stage.

Contracts scope of work 

The scope of work under this contract includes the commissioning of several systems for Line 6. 

  • Commissioning the line’s power supply & traction system,
  • Electrical & mechanical (E&M) system, 
  • Lifts and escalators at its 13 elevated stations.

MMRDA’s Brief Scope for Package-2 (CA-233): Design, Manufacture, Supply, Installation, Integration, Testing, and Commissioning of Power Supply and Traction, E&M, Lifts, and Escalators Including 5 Years of Comprehensive Maintenance After 2 Years of Defect Liability Maintenance Period of Line 6 [Swami Samarth Nagar to Vikhroli (EEH)] of Mumbai Metro Rail Project of MMRDA

Further Information 

IRCON placed a bid of Rs. 627 crore which was merely 6.71% above the MMRDA’s estimate of Rs. 587.86 crore. This indicates that the contract is expected to be awarded in the forthcoming weeks, without an extended financial bid evaluation period.
