Hyderabad Metro Trial Run

Hyderabad: Statutory inspection has been conducted by D.V.S. Raju, the chief electrical inspector of government of India. L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited (LTMRHL) informed that the inspection and trial run has started for the Overhead Electric Traction System (OETS) between Panjagutta and L.B. Nagar Hyderabad Metro stations and accorded authorization for its energisation at 25kV AC.

D.V.S. Raju explaining the need for energisation of OETS said that it will facilitate movement of metro trains for trail runs for trains plying on the Ameerpet to L.B. Nagar stretch that connects the entire Corridor-I from Miyapur to L.B. Nagar. D.V.S.Raju has given go ahead for the trail run.

On technically grounds, the official said that the electric traction system is supplied from the 132kV/25kV Receiving Substation (RSS) of the Hyderabad Metro Rail at the MGBS. Incoming supply to this RSS is taken from 220kV/132kV main substation of TS TRANSCO.

As per the current metro infrastructure, the stations that fall between Ameerpet and L.B. Nagar have got 33kV power supply approval from the CEIG between February 2018 and May 2018. This enables functioning and illuminating of escalators as well as lifts operating on Ameerpet Interchange Station.

MD & CEO, L&TMRH, K.V.B. Reddy shared that this step marks an important milestone for them for the work going on for Corridor 1. Reddy also added that he is grateful to the chief chief electrical inspector of government of India, Dr Raju for inspecting and approving 5 energisation of the Panjagutta to LB Nagar Hyderabad Metro stretch.

With this approval the metro officials will now be able to test other systems of metro rail stations and start trial run as per their dedication to complete all statutory requirements, added Reddy.

During the inspection L&TMRH project director M.P. Naidu, COO Anil Kumar Saini, head (power systems) P. Srinivasa Murthy and others were in attendance at the occasion.
