NEW DELHI (Metro Rail News): Four bidders of design and engineering companies filed bids for the Central Vista of Delhi’s Detailed Design Consultant (DDC) contract for a new Automated People Mover (APM) system.
The Central Secretariat Station, which serves the yellow and violet lines of the Delhi Metro and is approximately 3km long underground ring line with 4 proposed stations, will be connected to new government structures being built as part of the Central Vista Redevelopment Project.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for its development in February 2022.
DMRC issued a tender notice for its DDC contract worth Rs. 8.07 crore estimated value and a 2880-day (7.89 years) deadline in May 2022.
The four bidders are Ayesa India Pvt. Ltd., Consulting Engineers Group Ltd. (CEG), Egis India Consulting Engineers Pvt. Ltd., SYSTRA MVA Consulting (India) Pvt. Ltd.
The name of the Package is DCCD-04.
Engagement of Detail Design Consultant (DDC) for Civil, Architectural, and Building Services including EandM works for the proposed underground Automatic People Mover (APM) system at Central Vista are included in the brief scope of the Tender.
The bids have been sent out for technical review, which might take a few months. The financial bids of the technically qualified bidders will then be opened to expose the lowest bidder, who is most likely a consultant, as well as the other bidders.
According to the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the system, 20,000 passengers per hour are expected to use it during morning and evening rush hours.
