The Pune Metro Line 3 is being developed through a public-private partnership (PPP) model, established by a joint venture between TATA and Siemens under the designation Pune IT City Metro Rail Ltd.

The State Government’s VGF contribution was approved on August 27, 2019, primarily through land transfers from various state agencies (e.g., Dairy Development, Pune Police).
