MUMBAIÂ (Metro Rail News): In a bureaucratic reshuffle, Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee, IAS has been selected as the new commissioner of the MMRDA (Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority). Dr. Mukherjee, a 1996-batch IAS officer, was previously in charge of the City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra Limited (CIDCO). He assumes the role previously held by SVR Srinivas, who has been designated as the officer on special duty (OSD) for the Dharavi Redevelopment Project.
The state government has also made transfers of five other senior officials. Anil Diggikar, a 1990-batch IAS officer, has been posted as Vice Chairman and Managing Director of CIDCO, Mumbai, replacing Dr. Mukherjee. Manisha Patankar-Mhaiskar, a 1992-batch IAS officer, has been appointed as Additional Chief Secretary of the Public Works Department, along with additional responsibilities as Chief Protocol Officer in the General Administration Department, Mantralaya, Mumbai.
Furthermore, Dr. K H Govinda Raj, an IAS officer from the 1995 batch who previously held the position of Additional Metropolitan Commissioner of MMRDA, Mumbai, has been designated as the Principal Secretary of the Urban Development Department at Mantralaya, Mumbai. Asheesh Sharma, a 1997-batch IAS officer, who held the position of Principal Secretary in the Urban Development Department, Mantralaya, Mumbai, has now been assigned as Additional Metropolitan Commissioner of MMRDA, Mumbai.
